Take Care of Pearls

Whether you have recently received a beautiful strand of pearls to commemorate a special occasion such as a wedding, anniversary, or graduation or are giving one to someone you love, it is crucial to take proper care of the pearls to preserve their natural beauty and maintain their longevity.

Here are some tips to help you do just that:

  • Always apply your perfume, hairspray, makeup, and lotions before putting on your pearls. Always take your pearls off first when the event is over. This is known as the "Last On, First Off" rule.
  • Store your pearls in a soft pouch or jewelry box when not in use to protect them from scratches and damage.
  • Wipe your pearls regularly with a soft cloth that has been moistened with water to maintain their shine.
  • Avoid exposing your pearls to abrasive objects and household cleaners, as these can cause damage to the delicate surface of the pearls.
  • Keep your pearls away from heat sources, such as televisions, stoves, fireplaces, etc., as excessive heat may cause them to lose their luster.
